Tims Tips (& Greenwoods Gripes)

So summer is finally here! No more freezing cold Sundays at Dartford. It is, indeed, a pleasure to be there with the gentle breeze blowing in off the North Sea, gently scented with the smell of the Medway at low tide!!! J. The clay season is well underway with a major competition or two nearly every weekend in the U.K. as well as those abroad. I am quite surprised how we shooters get the energy to go to work with so much to do at the weekends!!

Its very busy in the workshop at the moment with lots of enquiries for gun fittings, restorations and servicing before the new game season, the upside of which is, I get to meet lots of new shooters as well as my regular customers, the downside, I cant get time to shoot!!! Although I do get a lot of pleasure watching those who I have helped improving.

Hope you enjoy the new article and I will update again as soon as possible. As usual, my thanks to all of you who take the time to visit the website. Tim.

Like many other shooters today, I have just been confronted with the horrific news of events in Cumberland. I would, on behalf of myself, all of my shooting friends and those who read my website, like to send my deepest sympathy to those who have been touched by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with you.

Hi everyone!

And a very belated “Happy New Year” to you all.

Sorry I haven’t done any updates recently, it has been a very busy time for me, but I do promise lots of new project updates very soon, including a complete restoration of a Browning B25 skeet gun, donated by Mr. Micky Daws to be auctioned at Dartford Clay Shooting Ground on the 2nd of May at the end of the Grand Eastern Skeet Championship which will be shot over that weekend. If any of you saw the March edition Clay Shooting Magazine, you may have noticed a little bit I wrote about Skeet Guns, and I have now been asked to write some more articles on Gun fit, the first to appear in the April issue. This is part of the reason I have been so busy.

In the workshop, I have had the usual selection of rusty game guns to be cleaned and re-built, but mostly it has been the clay shooters keeping me so busy with gun fitting, custom grading etc all ready for the coming summer season. All I can say, having frozen my testicles off every weekend at Dartford is:- I

CAN’T WAIT FOR THE WARMER WEATHER!!!!!!!!

Will speak to you all soon, and, don’t forget, if you are bored, keep checking for the new updates. Once again, thanks for all your support, and for all the work you trust me with.

Tim

Hi there!

First of all, to all of you that take the time to read my website, I wish you all a very “Merry Christmas”.

I am hearing varying reports from around the South East region regarding the game season so far, but, hopefully with some drier, frostier weather on the way, things should improve for the end of the month and into January.

You hardier Clay Shooters who are still playing, if you are a weekday day shooter, a warm welcome and a hot toddy is available at West Kent shooting school, and don’t forget the covered and therefore dry layouts at Dartford Gun Club mean you don’t have to get your pride and joy wet if you fancy a days shooting. All the best to all of you for the New Year.

Hi there!

Sorry it has been so long since last updating the website, I promise there will more to come soon. Meanwhile, I am just letting you know that West Kent Shooting School can now offer my services to their clients. So if your gun needs some T.L.C, repairs or alterations and you are at the ground, talk to Gillian, Michael or the office staff about booking your gun in for me to work on.

As always, thank you all for taking the time to look at my website and making it such a success, there are approx 1000 of you , from the South East and elsewhere, viewing it every month.

First of all, apologies for not putting together many updates recently, it has been a very busy lead up to the game season, but I have now had chance to complete three, which I hope you will all find interesting.(please see right hand panel).

I would also like to pay my respects to the following shooters who we have recently lost, Pat Lynch, Don Gray and Chris Strange, all of whom were great characters in the shooting world.

For the second time, Johnny Walker has won The British Open Skeet Championship.  Goes to show John, there may be snow on the roof, but the fire is still red hot!!! P.s. glad the gun is working so well for you.

Lastly, my thanks to all of you who take the time to look at my website, and the numerous shooters who come to me for advice and have work carried out by me. Tim
